In a state of emergency, this shelter can be transported via standard shipping container and assembled to house up to 140 people. It is designed to protect people from the weather, but unlike typical shelters, occupants can have direct control of the penetration of natural light and air. Rainwater is collected and filtered centrally, and then stored for drinking. The shelter is functional, but through space and material, it is also designed to comfort and engage its occupants during a crisis.
